A2HW1: Long vowels and short vowels on them

Assalamu Alaykum


 Last Sunday 12/3/2023 We reviewed how to pronounce long vowels and how to pronounce vowels when short vowels on them. also we practiced on how to pronounce vowel alif when it has a sokoon and hamza on it.

Your homework for Sunday 12/10/2023 

from your green book page 73 Suratu al Nass 

1. Find the long vowels 

2. Find vowels with short vowel on them

EXAMPLE :  : 

Non : قُلْ

alif (letter) , Wow Long vowel : أَعُوذُ

Non : بِرَبِ

    Continue writing the rest of the words in the surah the same like the above example.

Arabic 2 final exam

Date: Sunday October 28th - 18th @ 9 am - finishing at 10:30 am (using zoom as needed)

There is no written exam.  It is all oral exam.  Students will be tested individually or in groups of 2.  Brief talk about test [youTube]

  • Here is a Green book PDF.  Be sure to have your green book with you.  You will asked to read individual words and explain the reading rules applied in that word.
  • All Suraat from Green book (page 64 onwards).  We will have you read 3 of these 8 suraat.  You will be asked to read one word at a time
  • All exercise pages after page 25 in Green Book.
    • Pages 29, 31, 36-37, 42-44, 48-49, 52, 54, 57, 60 and 63.
    • You can also try the audio files of above pages if it helps
  • 2 mistakes are allowed.  3rd time, students should say the words correctly or lose a point
  • Vocabulary: Each student will be asked 10 questions on using the Vocabulary sheet.

1. Noon with sukon before Baa we flip noon to letter meem

2. Noon Qutniyah: it is a small noon with kassrah that comes between two words we connect the noon with the first letter in the second word.

Your homework for next Sunday 10/15/2023 :

1. Read suratu Alma'oon from your green book page 68 and

write it down.

2. From suratu albaqarah aya 18 and 19 find all the reading rules that we learned so far and write each word with each rule.

Day 2: preparation - Arabic 2 and Arabic 5 good sample


Preparing for Day 2!

Assalaam-u-Alaikum
We will start with the review of Day 1 material and work on few words to ensure all Student are ready, refreshed and reminded :)

We will work on an active worksheet in the class for each of the following
  • We will dive into basic forms of verb
  • Come back to other kind of Nouns
  • Then some standard nouns and how to work with 4 of their properties
  • eventually put it altogether thru a verse of Quran

See you all there in time!  Plan for the traffic as well.

- Naima: Today during 10-10:30am grammar class, we continued with page 17 (ver, subject, and object). We had 2 students today with only 1 participating.

      May 27th from Sr Naima
      Today during 10-10:30am grammar class, we continued with page 17 (ver, subject, and object). We had 2 students today with only 1 participating.

      May 20th from Sr Naima:
      Today during 10-10:30am grammar class, we finished page 16. In’Sha’Allah we’ll continue from page 17 next. Please continue reviewing everything we’ve learned so far especially unit 3

      May 13th from Sr Naima:
      Today during 10-10:30am grammar, we finished pages 14-15 Alhamdulillah. We’ll continue practicing verbs on pages 16-17 next week In’Sha’Allah. Jzk’Allahu Kheyran for showing up, participating, turning in your quizzes, and doing amazing job!

      For reading we covered Aya 121-124 and practiced the vocabulary sheet. Writing homework up to Aya 49.
