A1HW2: next Three new letters ج ح خ

Every Sunday, your class starts at 9 am and will go till 11 am.  All students should be familiar with terms like harakah, harakaat, tashkeel, tashkeelaat and sukoon by now.

  • Write the words in English and in Arabic on a piece of paper.
  • be sure put your name and label it (A1HW2)

We covered a new important concept (about symbol/tashkeel ) called sukoon.  As mentioned last week, all these concepts are mentioned in your book too and we will practice them every week with letters, while making words such as following.

It is for this reason, you will notice questions in your homework about these concepts to ensure you understand these concepts

  1. What are harakaat? What is the English term/translation for harakah?
  2. What is a Tashkeel? what is tashkeelaat? What is the English term/translation for tashkeel?
  3. How do you define sukoon?
  4. What are the names of 3 vowels we learnt in the class

A2HW0: review of the book and some rules from Arabic 1

For the Class Date: 11/13/2022, Following homework is due on 11/20/2022 


We looked at first 25 pages of the books and confirmed we are all familiar with 
- Short vowels
- Long vowels
- Sukoon
- arabic terminology (fathah, kasrah, dammah, sukoon, maddah)

Homework is to read page 26 and write page 16.  

You must label your homework "A2HW0", put your name and date on it before turning it in the class

Arabic 2 Final exam information for Dec 4th 2022

Date: Sunday December 4th - 18th @ 8 am - finishing at 11:30 am (using zoom as needed)

There is no written exam.  It is all oral exam.  Students will be tested individually or in groups of 2.  Brief talk about test [youTube]

  • Here is a Green book PDF.  Be sure to have your green book with you.  You will asked to read individual words and explain the reading rules applied in that word.
  • All Suraat from Green book (page 64 onwards).  We will have you read 3 of these 8 suraat.  You will be asked to read one word at a time
  • All exercise pages after page 25 in Green Book.
    • Pages 29, 31, 36-37, 42-44, 48-49, 52, 54, 57, 60 and 63.
    • You can also try the audio files of above pages if it helps
  • 2 mistakes are allowed.  3rd time, students should say the words correctly or lose a point
  • Vocabulary: Each student will be asked 10 questions on using the Vocabulary sheet.

Arabic 1 final exam information

 Arabic 1: Sunday October 30th @ 9 am - finishing at 11:30 am (using zoom as needed)


  • You will be asked to write about 35 words (just like you do for your homework every week)
  • You will be asked to answer some essay questions (short answers, few fill in the blanks kind of questions)
  • Spell few words
