A2HW1 - long vowels and details

For the Class Date: 12/22/2024, Following homework is due on 01/05/2025

We started on long vowels.  We discussed the names of each of these vowels using the green book.  We also started on vocabulary page.

for homework, Students should -

• memorize the pointing words from the vocabulary page (there are 6 or 7 of them)
  
• answer following questions on a piece of paper and hand it in
  
• what is harakaat?
• how many harakaat exist in Arabic language 
• is harakaat opposite of sukoon
• how are harakaat shown in a word
• how do some harakaat relate to some other harakaat?

A2HW0x - writing exercises and review of simple rules

For the Class Date: 12/15/2024, Following homework is due on 12/22/2024

It was ensured students were in right classes. we did some writing exercises for teachers to confirm indeed their writing is intact by copying a page from the book

• Students got introduced to their 3rd teacher - Sr Rand - in person
  
• Books were distributed
• Students worked on page 25 and reviewed following concepts again!

3. - Sukoon
4. - Arabic terminology (fathah, kasrah, dammah, sukoon)

For homework, please write the last 4 lines of page 25 (same page you wrote in the class).  Label it and name it to turn it in to your teacher

Students will look at first 20 pages of the PDF book to ensure we know what are

- Long vowels

- Sukoon

- arabic terminology (fathah, kasrah, dammah, sukoon)

You must label your homework "A2HW0", put your name and date on it before turning it in the class.  homework will be discussed in the class.

1. Help yourself in reading Quran - Green Book - PDF to download so you can print it or just wait for physical book to be handed over in the class.  Most rules are covered from this book
1. regular version, being used for 15+ years. 
   
2. smaller pocket size version
3. please remember these are reading rules. some of them are part of recitation rules too but for now our focus is reading words, not reciting
    
2. White book, needed for couple of rules as well as practice on many words
