A1HW1: 4 concepts and your first homework

Welcome to your class new students.

We discussed the 4 core concepts you will focus on during this class.  We also introduced you to first 3 letters we will work on, along with short vowels and some terminology

It is a lot for first day and first day is usually hard but day 2 and day 3 are easier and we will repeat plenty of these concepts in day 2 and day 3

Homework is hard for first week but gets better as we go forward ...


so please answer following questions

1. What is the goal of this Arabic 1 class?
2. You need to list the 4 concepts we learnt in the class.  Put as much or as little detail as you like 
3. How many symbols did you learn from Arabic language?  what are their names?
4. What did you learn about the form of the letters?
5. How do we connect two letters in Arabic 1anguage?
6. How is Arabic language written? right to left or left to right?
7. What did you notice about the 3 letters so learnt so far?
8. What is harakah?  what does it mean?
9. How many harakaat do we have in Arabic language?
10. What is sukoon and how do you show it?
11. Can harakaah and sukoon be shown on the same letter?
12. Do you understand well how letters should be written in the beginning and middle form?  do you know the difference of forms from the END form?

also try to write following words, beware of the width of the letters

1. Tubat
2. (th)abat
3. Butibat
4. tabatab
5. bitabuti

Both classes should look at your goals and make sure you understand them well

Arabic 4 should read and get the page 100 ready from Grammar Book
Write next 5 verses to work on in the class.

Arabic 3 homeworks

New Arabic 3 class  (Burhaan, Nazar, Nuur, Samia)
I am still working on your goals.  For now, please memorize the words we discussed in the class.

Returning Arabic 3 students
Please write next 3 verses for each class.  Nothing is due about Arabic reading and Grammar at this point

We have completed upto verse 41 and are not trying to get uptil verse 60

We will also discuss other goals in the class (Hadith, vocabulary, Tafseer)

A2HW2: write and spell the words

Please write each word from Page 14 and page 15 once and spell it out, just like shown here in the sample

On Sunday August 14th, 21st and 28th, we worked on pages 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the reading book.

Not all students attended yet so on Sunday Sept 18th, a catch up session will be placed for all students so we can all be on the same page.

We will review all pages listed above, plus we will work on pages 11 and 14 as well insha-Allah
