Due to eid, Canada travel plans and 3 new classes starting in September (Islam 100, basic Aqeedah and Dawah training), I could not update your homework

please review what you covered in the class in last class and that should suffice as we launch the 9 month plan this weekend :) alhamdulillah

Day 9: making phrases using fixed & standard nouns - practiced verbs

We worked hard on Nouns and Verbs again so we can bring it altogether next week Sunday August 27th

Be sure to work on couple of verbs to make the full present and past tense charts.  use verbs "sharaba" (to drink) and "taraka" (to leave)

We also made short phrases bringing fixed and standard nouns together - such as

• He is a Muslim
• You are a teacher

We will continue the hard work on this next week along with ayaat 3 to 6 altogether

Arabic 3 students also held their reading class with Sr Khadeeja and short phrases/grammar lessons class with Br Yousuf as well

Day 8: solidify the knowledge about Nouns

Day 8: August 13th 2019
We didn't write any new verses but hit hard at "Fixed Nouns" in Unit 2, 5 and 6

We focused again how Fixed Nouns are different than Standard Nouns so students keep getting really solid about this knowledge point

Fixed nouns cannot be modified hence they do not have any female version, plural etc unless, other fixed nouns exist which are treated as female or plurals of a fixed now (such as "Haadhaa" هاذا and its plural "Haa Olaa ee" هاؤلاءِ  )

Standard nouns can be modified as needed - only limitation is living things ( عاقِل ) vs. non living ( غير عاقِل).  We can make plurals, duals, common, proper, feminine ... etc. for standard Nouns

We also worked on another verb and made past tense forms

Arabic 2: For two students who did show up last week, we worked on one to one and started a new surah for each student.  review your suraat along with all reading rules in them

Arabic 3: all classes should write next 3 ayaat to translate in class.  We will also work on many sentences this Sunday using your existing vocabulary so let us be mentally prepared for that

Day 7: Verbs, Nouns and Teasing your mind!

Verses, Verbs and Nouns!

Assalam-o-Alaikum
so we started on first 6 verses.  no new verses need to be written because we are still working on these 6.

We have 3 days left in this facility and then we will move back to al-Amaan center.

every week now, we will spend 10 minutes on a new verb (and its past and present tense forms along with translation) as well as Nouns (fixed ones and standard ones).  I also need to keep making you think hard about what you are learning and how you can stay close to your objectives

I am really excited we have made this far and cannot wait for what we will achieve in next 3 days at MCC (ar-Rahmaan)

We also started and finished in time alhamdulillah!

Day 6: we have started on Surah Baqarah

Alhamdulillah classes are back.  Besides starting on Quran with the learning style, we reviewed important concepts and all ready for verbs next week!

Sunday July 30th will be your first day for your 10 month program and we will need to start writing and translation 3 verses of Surah Baqarah right away

Beside the verses of Quran, month of August allows us 2 full hours of classes so your grammar lesson will get ample time to practice.  being the first day back from vacation :)  following is what we must refresh that day

I am truly sorry about forgetting the break time last Saturday, insha-Allah will be better this saturday

Do remember, the same concepts will be covered again in future classes but with more exercise and less of a 5 day boot camp.  While some people love the boot campls, majority of us thrive on learning few concepts and practice them over and over

Excellent work in the class!

We went thru some difficult lessons yesterday along with review of Day 1.  All of you did a great job masha-Allah

One note of caution: It is ok if some of you are struggling with writing.  The goal of the class is to give you some solid understanding of such concepts which will help us with analysis and translation.  meanwhile we will write few things and it is ok if we are not all able to write completely.  This will be fixed in future classes starting in August, insha-Allah

Homework
It will be slightly different than what is in the handout so please take note of the difference
1 - Memorize the words from Page 9 (all words for refernce nouns, interrogative Nouns and pointing nouns)

2- Try to make 5 sentences of own like following

• This is a house
• That is the house
• Where is a pen?
• My pen is with you
• How are you?
• Where am I?

Summary

• There are ONLY 3 categories of words in Arabic language
• We learnt the importance of the attachments.  possessive pronouns attach at the end of ANY word hence they are called Attaching pronouns as well
• Attaching prepositions attach at the beginning of a word. Prepositions are the only particles we will learn in this course

Homework

1. Attempt the 5 phrases listed on Page 6 on your own, no community work allowed :)
2. Think about similar words from suraat you already know
3. Memorize all attaching pronouns (9 of them) and attaching preposition (5 of them) along with their meaning

Reminder again - we must start on time so we all promised we will show up on time!

I am sorry for not collecting $5 payments yesterday, next week when you come in, put the $5 in the envelop provided by us and cross off your name from the list

Day 0: starting the class!

Assalaam-u-Alaikum

This class is 5 weeks of Quranic Arabic bootcamp at al Amaan center (5W_BC)

although I have sent text messages already, I wanted to quickly recap in an email since tomorrow (April 22nd) is first day of the class at 10:15 am insha-Allah

Please remember you must be able to read Quranic Arabic comfortably in order to benefit from this class. Registration will close because class is full now

• It seems our 3rd floor room is ready in masjid for 10:15 am. Lets be on time.
• Please bring $5 or $10 for your books. I found a vendor who can print for cheaper price but have yet to hear back if we will have all books printed in time.
• A notebook and couple of pencils are definitely needed. 
• Pens and highlighter will help but not required.
• I have included the Day 1 notes for your review.  We will cover this in class tomorrow

Registration is closed at this point as we have too many people signed up now, alhamdulillah.
